Summer in the Sun

What a great summer we had!! It was all about sun and fun!! I think that I was so busy playing that I just didn't have any time to blog. We got a great start to our summer by going to LAKE POWELL. We went with the Chatterton Family, my parents and cousin Jaclyn. We rented a houseboat and spent our days eating, boating, tubing, wakeboarding, knee boarding, laughing, playing games, tanning, fishing, and swimming. It was the best vacation I've been on in awhile. Thanks for the invite Trish and Chris. We had a blast!! There are many picture to follow; lets remember I didn't post anything all summer.

After we left Lake Powell we spent a few days in Utah with Nates brothers and then headed to Idaho where we lived for most of the summer. My parents we so gracious to let us stay with them for the summer. We had a great time in Idaho with family.

Our next vacation took us to Oklahoma to see the Hartsock's. We flew with Noah and Kendalyn. Lindsy, Ben and the kids came from Chicago. They also brought Nate's cousin Zach along with them. Dan came from Stillwater and Jake and Jo were already there. The only brother that wasn't able to make it was Jeremiah; whose wife Allison was getting ready to have a baby. (We missed them). It was over 100 degrees the whole time we were there so we spent most of our time in the pool.

The first night that we were there we headed to the kiddy park with the kiddies... and then to the Vaclaw's for some amazing fireworks. Happy 4th of July!!

Back to Idaho........

Kimmi and I decided to run the 10K 24th of July Freedom Run. It was my first race and I didn't reallly train for it. I'm pretty sure that I will train next time. I did end up winning the grand prize from the raffle and got a $100 gift certificate for new running shoes. I was super excited!!!

In August my entire family was togther for the first time in years. One of the days we went boating with everyone and had an amazing time. We also had a family reunion with all of my mom's family.

Wow did we laugh hard. My abs were so sore the next day from laughing. It was a blast.

We were sad when our summer had to come to an end and we had to come home to Wyoming, but so grateful for family and jobs that allow us to spend the summers with them. Now we are back to teaching and regular life, so maybe I will be better about blogging, but no gurantees.

ARIZONA

We were so blessed to be able to go to Arizona for 5 days in April and visit our favorite friends Tim and Shelbie Claybaugh. Shelbie is a sister that I served with in the Visitors Center and we became great friends on the mission and even better friends after. Luckily our husbands have become good friends as well!! Tim and Shelbie moved about a year ago and although we were sad to see them leave Utah we knew that them living in AZ would give us a great excuse to go there. Mesa is where I served my mission. I loved having the opportunity to visit the areas where I served and being able to show the visitors center to Nate.

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures. I think that we were too busy enjoying the nice weather and playing. We left cold and snowy Wyoming and headed to 80 degree weather! Each day was filled with fun, laughter, food, shopping and sun!! We went to the pool everyday to catch a few rays. We went to the Vistors Center on Sunday afternoon. (Pics to follow of that) We got to do a session in the temple and that was a treat for me. I absolutely love the Mesa temple; it will always be one of my favorite temples. We went to the Easter Pageant which is such an amazing production. I'm really mad that I didn't take pictures becaues if you've never been to it, its hard to imagine how awesome it is. We drove through my areas I reminissed and told Nate about things that happened in certain places. We also visited a few of the families that I taught. I miss them and I loved being able to see them and speak Spanish with them.

We are listening to a short narration of the Cristus that is played. As I listened to this presentations I was hard not to get a little choked up. It brought back many memories of my time in the Visitors Center.

Here we are going through 'God's Plan for His Family' This is one of my favorite presentations at the Visotors Center. I can't count how many times I showed this presentation but going through it this time with Nate was extra special. The focus of this presentation is on families and how Jesus Christ has prepared a way for us to be eternally together.

I love this temple!! This is the view that I got to see for many months as I looked out the windows of the Visitors Center.

What can I say, I love Arizona and could live there the rest of my life. Shelbie and I had a great time shopping and talking. Maybe the 2 things that we do best. We are sad that the Claybaugh's live so far away but are grateful they live in a warm place where we can escape the long Wyoming winters and enjoy some heat. Thanks for letting us come and visit you and introducing us to Orange Leaf (most amazing yogurt place) we hope to come back soon!!

NCAA Tourney-Courtside

As selection Sunday was nearing we were praying for one things.....that BYU would play their first few game in Denver. As they announced where and who they would be playing we were thrilled it was in Denver. We sat on the 2nd and 3rd rows for the Wofford and Gonzaga games. The Gonzaga game was amazing. It was by far the best game I've ever been to. Although the cougars had control for most of the game it felt like a 2 point game the entire time. It was INTENSE!! Noah played amazing and was 5 for 5 from the field. He sat out most of the first half with 2 fouls but when he was in he tore it up!! We are so proud of the cougars and their amazing season!!
